Hello everyone! Please give a warm welcome to my new friend Jason Porter! How exciting! So a big thank you to Jason for supporting me and good luck on Sunday!
Jason has accomplished so many exciting things, read below for more info!
My Name is Jason Porter from Preston Lancashire; I’m 42 years old and married to Sharon with a step son called Kevin. My day job is a Project Engineer for a local manufacturing company called Baxi where I’ve spent all 26 years of my working life. With a love for the outdoors and also the thrills life can allow us to experience I’ve been lucky enough to jump form a plane, dive in the world’s oceans along with ride the most powerful of sportsbikes but my real passion lies in the mountains, especially throughout the winter months. As Scotland is the most accessible place for me to enjoy I’ve climbed a number of mountains but most favourable are the ones found in Glen Coe, Fort William, Torridon and the Cairngorms although my heart must lie within the British Alps found on the Isle of Skye namely the Cuillin Ridge. In 2010 eight of us attempted an unguided summit bid of Mont Blanc, and after spending three nights above 4000 meters, three of us made the summit on the 03/072010 at 08:15hrs.Since then my attentions have turned to triathlon and in 2011 I competed in the UK Ironman 70.3 deemed as the toughest 70.3 on the calendar. In 2012 I’ve taken it easy by only running in the Barcelona marathon.2013 diary looks promising with a second attempt to improve my time at the Barcelona Marathon. In June of 2013 my biggest challenge to date will be the full course Austria Ironman in Klagenfurt which consists of a 2.4 mile swim followed by a 112 mile cycle before completing the 26.4 mile marathon finish.
Ready for my next challenge……………….with Brandon the Lion!
